Registered charity number 1144639
An Institution Striving for the Learning, Practice & Propagation of Islam through Community Engagement
Mustafa Welfare Society Bolton was formed in September 2010 in a rented premise in Bolton. In March 2011, the constitution of the society was adopted unanimously and in November 2011, the society was registered as a charity no 1144639. In March 2011 Sunday school (Al-Hujjat Academy) was also started after giving due thought. The society held its first Muharram Ashura Majalis programme in 2010 which was fervently attended by the people of Bolton. It was surprising to find so many people living in Bolton without knowing each other & without having the facility to observe their religious rites appropriately & easily.
The charity bought its own premises on Fletcher Street in 2012 and is currently in the process of renovating it though major works have been completed.
The charity is also registered for claiming gift aid from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

Al-Hujjat Academy
Mission Statement:
Al-Hujjat Academy aims to provide its students with religious and general education, bearing in mind their physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs.
Al-Hujjat Academy was founded over three years ago with the aim of addressing the pressing religious educational needs of the Shia community of Bolton. Since our inception, we have gone from teaching just a few children to having around 80 students registered with us. We live in a diverse and ever changing world where the image and teachings of Islam have been distorted. As a result of this, we aim to teach our students according to the real spirit of Islam which revolves around tolerance, mutual respect and love. We believe that the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWW) and the pure Ahlulbayt (AS) are exemplar role models in all aspects of life.
The School is run on the British schooling model. It is managed by a Board of Governors which reports to the Executive Committee of Mustafa Welfare Society. The school has the child protection and anti-bullying policies in place.
The school follows the Majlis e Ulema Europe’s syllabus, which comprises 7 books which cover the following topics: Fiqh, Akhlaq and History.[۲]
