Masjid & Imambargah Shuhdae Karbala was founded after the unfortunate closure and sale of Imamia Mission on Romford Road, East London. From 2018 to 2020, the Shia Muslim community of East London did not have a place of worship and were forced to hire community halls to organise prayers and Moharram. This was a sad phase. Then, by the grace of Allah and blessings of Ma’soomeen, in early 2020, Yawar Ali Shah and his family purchased and secured the building at 383 Barking Road, London, E13 8AL, which was declared Shuhdae Karbala. It is important to note that Shuhdae Karbala is the only Idara in East London which is a designated Mosque and Imambargah and where religious “seegha” were read for its dedication in presence of hundreds of momineen. Prayers, including Jumma, and all religious occasions are celebrated and observed at Shuhdae Karbala where people from all faiths are welcomed.
۳۸۳ Barking Road is a huge building which is practically much more appropriate and suitable than the old Imamia Mission building at 328 Romford Road. This new building comprises of a ground floor hall (capacity 400), first floor hall (capacity 200), large kitchen, admin office, separate toilet for ladies and gents, disabled toilet, accommodation for a resident aalim, separate sitting room, large back-yard and a funeral room. Also, there are separate entrance for ladies and gents. The location of these premises cannot be more central to our community and is well served with 7 bus routes, Canning Town and Plaistow tube stations. Free parking is also available on Barking Road and neighbouring streets.
Shuhdae Karbala is a registered Charity under the Charity Commission of England & Wales (Registration No. 1187832). [۱]
